How could you describe your career path in few words?

My career path has been dedicated to software development, data science, and artificial intelligence. Through Zaka, I have helped businesses across various industries to unlock the full potential of AI and optimize their operations. My passion for AI is not limited to my work at Zaka. I’m also the Founder & President of Beirut AI, an NGO that brings together the applied AI community in Lebanon. Through Beirut AI, I have organized numerous community events and technical workshops aimed at educating people about AI and its practical applications. I believe that AI has the potential to create a better future for all, and I’m dedicated to spreading this message and empowering others to leverage AI for good.

What was your most challenging experience and it has changed your mindset?

Starting a new business can be an incredibly challenging experience, requiring an immense amount of dedication and hard work. For me, quitting my job and starting my first startup was a pivotal moment in my life, a time when I embarked on a journey that would test my limits and push me to new heights. My experience starting my first business was challenging in many ways. I had to navigate the complex world of entrepreneurship, learning how to build a business from scratch, market for it, and attract customers. I also had to teach myself everything about Artificial Intelligence, which was a key component of my startup. This required a steep learning curve, as I had to immerse myself in a new and complex field, while also managing the day-to-day operations of my business. Despite the challenges I faced, starting my own business has changed my mindset in many positive ways. I now have a greater sense of independence and self-confidence, knowing that I have the skills and determination to pursue my goals. I have also learned the importance of perseverance, and how to overcome obstacles and setbacks with resilience and determination. This experience has also given me a greater appreciation for risk-taking, and how taking calculated risks can lead to rewards that are well worth the effort.

Based on your experiences, what skills should an entrepreneur develop in 2023?

In 2023, entrepreneurship will require a combination of traditional skills and newer, technology-driven skills. Here are some skills that I believe will be particularly important for entrepreneurs in 2023:

● Adaptability: Entrepreneurs will need to be able to adapt quickly to changes in the market and in technology. Being able to pivot and adjust strategies based on new information will be essential for success.

Digital literacy / Tech-savviness: With technology playing an ever-increasing role in business, entrepreneurs will need to have a strong understanding of digital tools and platforms. This includes proficiency in social media, digital marketing, and analytics.

● Creativity: Entrepreneurs must be able to think outside the box and come up with innovative solutions to problems.

● Leadership: Entrepreneurs need to be able to motivate and inspire their team to achieve their goals and create a positive and productive work environment. Based on your recent experiences, if you had one piece of advice for an entrepreneur's success in the context of 2023, what would it be?

If I had to offer one piece of advice for an entrepreneur's success in 2023, it would be to prioritize building strong relationships with customers and stakeholders. In today's business environment, consumers have more choices than ever before, and building a loyal customer base can be a significant competitive advantage. To do this, entrepreneurs should focus on delivering high-quality products and services that meet the needs and expectations of their target audience.

They should also prioritize communication and feedback, actively seeking out and responding to customer feedback to continually improve their offerings.

In addition, entrepreneurs should also focus on building communities around their brand or product. In 2023, community building has become increasingly important for businesses, as it allows them to engage with customers and build a loyal fan base, through various channels, including social media, email marketing, and in-person events.
